How to Use Google Lens
- Launch the Google Lens App from the app drawer.
- Interestingly, even though Google Lens is a product of Google, the app works well even without signing in. Although, you still have the option to sign in using your existing Google Account for cross-platform synchronization.
- The app will prompt you to a very simple interface with easy navigation. Below the screen are five different icons you can interact with; Auto, Translate, Text, Shopping, and Dining
- Tap the Auto icon (already set by default) you to identify almost every object. Using the app’s special camera, you can scan an object and let the system identify the item.
- Once identified, the app will give you a list of the closest recommendations related to the item. The results could be a link to Google Search, Wikipedia, YouTube, and many other reliable resources.
- Tap the Translate icon to translate texts to your preferred languages. Simply scan the image using the in-app camera and wait for the translation to appear on the screen.
- Tap the Text icon to scan the texts from any images and copy them. You can paste the copied text to any platform you like (notepad, messaging app, social network, etc)
- Tap the Shopping icon to help you get more details about a certain item whenever you are shopping at your local grocery store. You can scan barcodes and QR codes and get all relevant details about the product.
- Tap Dining to help you recognize restaurants, clubs, cafes, bars, and other business establishments. The app can provide you the latest reviews based on various websites as well as related information such as the store’s operating hours, address details, and even the best menu they offer.
- If you spotted an animal and if you are not familiar with it, you can easily point your camera to the animal and let the app identify it for you.
