How to Use Kik
- Launch the Kik app from the app drawer.
- The app will then ask you to sign in using your existing Kik account. If you do not have an account yet, you can easily create a new one.
- Simply input all the required details and finish some quick verifications to start using Kik. (Make sure to confirm your email address to complete your account creation).
- You can connect with people by syncing your phone contacts with Kik. You can also input your friend’s Kik username manually or better yet scan the Kik code using your device.
- Allow, or not, Kik to access your contacts on your device (optional).
- Tap Find People to locate friends or contacts. You will need their username to be able to find them, though.
- To start chatting, simply tap a contact and select Chat at the bottom of the screen. Enter your chat text into the window and tap Send. Kik allows you to send more than just text messages to make your conversation more engaging. This app allows you to send an array of multimedia like images, emojis, GIFs, sketches, and many others.
- To start a group chat, tap the big blue ‘+’ button in the bottom right of the main Kik screen. Select Start a group. Name the group and add contacts to the group by entering their username. Start the chat! You can also use the Kik code to add people to the group or use a group hashtag.
