How to Use the Nextdoor app
- Start by launching the Nextdoor App from the app drawer.
- The first step you need to do is set up an account. Input all the required details to verify that you are indeed part of the neighborhood.
- Once done and after signing in, you will now get full access to your neighborhood’s online community.
- After you verify your account and are granted access to your neighborhood’s Nextdoor site, you will be given the opportunity to post an introductory message to let your neighbors learn some details about you.
- The app will immediately prompt you to your main dashboard containing the newsfeed as well as quick access to your Inbox, Neighbors, Maps, Events, and more.
- Tap the Newsfeed tab to access up-to-date information including the latest happenings in the neighborhood. These might include recent job offerings, newly opened shops and restaurants, the latest events, and even crime reports.
- Enter the NextDoor Map page to see the other homes in your neighborhood and other Nextdoor neighborhoods around you. You can use your map to learn more about your neighbors. Through the map, you can identify which houses are not signed up yet with Nextdoor. Navigate around your map by pinching (to zoom) or swiping.
- The app also allows you to create a free public Business Page that local neighbors can see.
Note: All members of Nexdoor must be verified and they are all required to go by their real names. It is an effective platform to support local businesses and also to be updated with the latest happenings around your own neighborhood.
