How to Use OfferUp

As a Seller

1. Launch the OfferUp from the App drawer
2. Set up an OfferUp account and set your location.
3. Click the “Post” button with the camera icon located on the lower center of the screen.
4. Take or select photos of your item to be displayed.
5. Name your item and describe it by selecting a category and confirming its current condition.
6. Make sure to add any extra details about your item, like details on the item’s condition or whether you’re selling it with accessories included.
7. Set your price. You can choose whether your price is firm or if it’s OK for buyers to haggle with you. You’ll find this section on the “Firm on price” option.
8. Choose a delivery method. You can choose to sell only locally or ship your item nationwide
9. That’s it! You just have to wait for any potential buyers.

As a Buyer

1. Launch the OfferUp from the app drawer.
2. Register an account and set up your profile.
3. Search for the item you want to buy. You can manually search the item by inputting the keywords on the search bar. You can also browse items by category, price, and location.
4. Open the item you want to buy.
5. You’ll see the item’s price. This may be a firm cost or negotiable, depending on the item.
6. Once you’re ready, tap Make Offer. If you have questions, you can tap the Ask button to message the seller and ask for more details.
7. If the seller is open to negotiating the price, you can enter your own amount if you want. Edit the price on the next screen, or tap Edit when reviewing a shipping offer.
8. The item may be available for you to pick up in person or get shipped to you. If both options are available, pick the one you prefer.
9. To send an offer for an item to be shipped to you, tap Ship to me. To send your offer for an item to be picked up locally, tap Make Offer.
10. After the sale is complete, ask the seller to mark the item as sold so you can rate and review each other.
