How to Use Google Pay

  1. Launch the Google Pay app from your app drawer.
  2. To get started, you will be asked to sign in using your existing Google Pay or Google Account.
  3. If you do not have one yet, you can sign up for a new account through the app itself.
  4. After doing so, you will be asked to select your preferred payment method. You can link your Google Pay account with your debit card, credit card, bank account, PayPal, or Visa Checkout account.
  5. Once you are done setting up the account and selecting your payment method, you can now start doing transactions online.
  6. To pay using Google Pay, look for the contactless or Google Pay symbols. Look for them on the payment terminal screen or on the cash register at checkout.
  7. To make contactless payments, turn on near field communication (NFC). To turn on NFC, check your phone’s settings app.
  8. At the checkout, hold the back of your phone close to the payment reader for a few seconds. When you’re done paying, a blue checkmark will appear on the screen.
  9. To send money to your family or friends using the Google Pay app, simply tap the Send or Request Money Option. Enter the amount you want to send and the recipient’s information, hit send, and you are done.
