How to Use Microsoft Teams
- To start, launch the Microsoft Team app from the app drawer.
- The functions you can use from this app depends on your subscription. Those who are subscribed to Office 365 will get full access while those who are using the free account will be able to use all the basic features.
- Sign in using your existing Microsoft Account or register a new one.
- Before you start, the app will give you three options to choose from; For School, For Family and Friends, or For Work. Select the option that fits your need.
- Located below is a panel of icons that will give you quick access to Activity, Chat, Teams, Calls, and Files.
- Enter the Chat page to start a conversation. Tap the compose icon and input the text or message you want to send to your team. You can either set a private chat or a group conversation for your team.
- To create a Team, tap the Team icon on the bottom panel and then tap the Manage Team icon on the upper right corner of the app. Tap + to create a new team. Name the team, add a description, and choose its privacy level and data classification. Invite people or even entire contact groups to join your new team.
- For audio or video conversation, you can access the Call page, select your preferred contact, and tap the call button to start either a call or video conversation.
- Enter the Files page to integrate important files from your OneDrive.
Note: The app also allows you to send images and GIFs in chat to make the conversation more interesting. You can also input files and voice images too.
