How to Use Venmo
- Launch the Venmo app from the app drawer.
- The first step is to set up an account and create your profile. You can sign up for a new account using your active email address or you can connect the Venmo to your Facebook account.
- After signing up and verifying your account, the app will now prompt you to your dashboard. This will give you quick access to your contacts, personal transaction, and a newsfeed that displays all your friend’s Venmo activities.
- To send money, simply tap the Payment icon on the upper right corner of the screen.
- Select a recipient from your list of Venmo contacts or add a recipient. You can add by Venmo username, phone, or email. You can also scan a Venmo user’s QR code.
- Add the payment amount. Include a note to the payment. Tap Pay. You’ll see your Venmo balance or default backup account. Choose the currently select account to make a change.
- Confirm payment.
- The same thing can be done when requesting a payment that instead of tapping the Pay button, you just have to tap the Request button and let the recipient be notified of your request.
- To add an external source in the Venmo app, tap the hamburger icon at the top left of the app. Go to Settings and select Payment Methods under Preferences.
- Select Add bank or card under Payment Methods and then choose the Bank or Card selection under Add Bank or Card.
- Follow the directions for your choice. When adding a bank, you can choose to have an Instant or Manual verification.
