Interestingly, those who recently made an upgrade to Windows 10 will be able to appreciate the built-in “Your Phone Companion” app. This app allows you to connect your phone to your PC and access various mobile apps directly from your computer. One of its key features is the ability to make and receive calls from your PC. The same thing goes with text messages. To top it all, you can also view or transfer files from your phone to your PC and vice versa. Simply drag and drop the files to transfer them right away.

How Your Phone Companion App works?

Provided that you are already running Windows 10 on your PC, the first thing you need to do is to download the Your Phone Companion app from the Google Play Store. Currently, the app is not yet available for iOS devices. However, the closer counterpart for it is the “Continue on PC” app by Microsoft which comes with similar yet limited functions. To start, open the Your Phone app from your PC, select the type of phone you are using (Android or iOS), sign in using your existing Microsoft device. You have to do the same thing for your mobile device. Open the Your Phone Companion app, sign in using your Microsoft Account, and tap Continue.

Tap the “Allow” button to start linking both devices. Once the phone is linked, you can now manage the settings. Located on the far left panel is access to Photos, messages, and notifications. You can allow the app to instantly show photos from your phone. You can also manage your message settings based on your very own preferences. The same thing goes for your notifications. It will now automatically redirect everything to your PC. You can also access your favorite mobile apps on your PC allowing you to enjoy your app on a bigger screen, keyboard, mouse, and touch screen.
