How To Use Google Authenticator
- The first step is to set up your Google Authenticator. After downloading the app, you need to open your Google Account first to activate the 2-Step Verification.
- On your phone, go to your Google Account. Open the Google app, and tap the Manage Your Google Account Button. Once you are on Google Account, tap the Security option from the navigation panel
- Under “Signing in to Google,” tap 2-Step Verification. You might need to sign in.
- In the “Add more second steps to verify it’s you” section, under the “Authenticator app,” tap Set up. Follow the on-screen steps.
- With this Google Authenticator app, users will have another authentication before fully accessing their account. Aside from your usual login details, the app will set up another authentication to verify the user.
- Open the Google Authenticator app from the app drawer. You will be asked to set up or configure the setting to add the accounts that you want to be part of this 2 step verification process. The verification can be done either via Scan barcode or manual entry (users only have to pick one).
- This app also works well even without an Internet connection.
