How to Use Remind

1. Launch the Remind app from your app drawer.
2. The first step is to pick your role. There are five roles in this app; the Administrator who takes full control of everything; the Teachers who can create online classes and set office hours; the Students who can participate in classes; the Parents who can also join the classes and get updates to their kid’s progress; and No Roles who can designate a student, parent, or teacher role in their account settings.
3. The app will ask you to sign in using your existing Remind account (via remind.com) or if you do not have one yet, you can create a new account using the app itself. Just provide all the information needed to register.

For Teachers

1. To add a class in the app, click the classes tab, you can then click Create a class at the bottom of your screen next to Classes Owned.
2. There, you will be able to choose your class name and code. You can share the code with your students and parents to access your classroom using the Remind app on their phones.
3. You can send invitations directly to people if you have their phone numbers or email addresses.

For Students

1. You can join a class or school to receive Remind messages via text, email, or push notification.
2. To join a class, tap the + by Classes Joined and either join with your class code or search for your class. You’ll automatically get app notifications.
3. To send an individual message, click on New message located on the left side of the dashboard. Tap Message and then type the name of the person you want to reach in the search box at the top, or scroll down until you get to the People section and select the box next to their name. Select Continue, input your message and tap Send.
4. To send a Group message (up to 9 participants), follow the steps above. Tap Create New located beside the Recent Group Conversation. Enter the recipients, hit continue, input your message, and send.

For Parents

1. Parents share the same function with students. Kindly refer to the information provided above.
2. They can also message other participants in a class depending on the class settings and be linked as a parent to a student.
