How does LG Mobile Switch work?

Using the LG Mobile Switch is not as complicated as it sounds. All you need is to prepare both your old device and your new LG Phone. Simply download the LG Mobile Switch app to your old device. Interestingly, there are three possible ways to transfer your data. You can choose between Wired transfer (USB Cable), Wireless transfer (over Wifi), or via SD Card. To start, make sure that the old phone and the new one are on the same Wi-fi network. On your old phone, select your preferred transfer method. On your new LG phone, go to “Settings”, select “General”, tap “Backup and reset” and select the “LG Mobile Switch” to open the app. Tap Receive.

Tap”Start” in the right corner of the screen on both phones to create a wireless connection between the two devices (if you picked the wireless transfer method). If you are transferring via USB Cable, the USB OTG adapter should be connected to the new device and the USB cable to the old one. Once the two devices are now connected, you will now be asked to select the data you want to transfer. You can transfer photos, videos, music, documents, call logs, contacts, text messages, calendars, app, and voice memos. Once done, you can now restart the new LG phone and you are good to go.

Different Transfer Methods– LG Mobile Switch supports two transfer methods: Wi-Fi and OTG USB connection.

Transfer Multiple Files-The app allows you to transfer all data including photos, videos, music, contacts and call logs, etc. from your old Android or iOS phones to a brand-new LG phone. However, it cannot transfer any data that are stored on the cloud such as iCloud or Google Drive, but those contents will be available when you log in to the account in your new LG phone.

1. LG Mobile Switch requires an Android version 4.1 or higher
2. It has a Content Rating of (3+)
3. For Android, the app size is 4.8 MB so it won’t really hurt much of your phone storage
4. LG Mobile Switch requires a stable Internet connection for the wireless transfer method.
5. The app will ask you to grant permission to access Device history, Identity, Calendar, Contacts, Location, SMS, Phone, Photos/Media/Files, Storage, and more.

Those who are using the iOS device might need to use the OTG USB transfer method.
