How to Use Maps app for iOS
- Maps for iOS is an app developed by Apple in response to Google Maps. The app is used to provide real-time GPS navigation, traffic, and transit info, and explore local neighborhoods by knowing where to eat, drink and go – no matter what part of the world you’re in.
- It is important to note that Apple Maps is a default map system for almost all the latest iOS-powered devices including iPhone, iPad, and those devices running iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.
- To get started, simply launch the Maps from your app drawer.
- To mark locations and get directions using Maps, simply tap the Location icon at the top right corner of the app.
- From here, you can either view or mark your current location. Tap the Mark my location button to mark your location from your device. You can also share your current location by tapping the Share My Location option. Select how to share your location from the choices in the share sheet. You can share your location through Messages, email, AirDrop, Reminders, your favorite social networks, and more.
- To change the map view, start by searching for the location you wish to map. Tap the “information” icon at the top right. Choose between Maps, Transit, and Satellite as your view.
- To search for a location, use the search box to find a specific place or address. Tap on the location to view it on a map and then choose Directions to path your trip.
- On the main Maps screen, you can also see a listing of Siri’s suggestions and previous locations.
- Maps also display a list of the places you’re most likely to go to, so you can get directions to any of the locations with just a tap.
